| On average, the number of unexplained deaths and missing persons go over 10,000 annually just within Japan. Most of these cases are caused by cursed spirits. They are born from excessive negative emotions, such as hardships, regret, shame, fear; manifesting themselves as creatures that can and will harm humans. Yūji Itadori is a normal high school boy with above average physical strength and durability. Due to multiple coincidences, he consumed a cursed object — 1 out of 20 fingers of the King of Curses, Ryōmen Sukuna. Whilst this normally causes deaths in human due to its poisonous nature, Yūji managed to stomach it without a problem. However, this came at a price. He became the host to Sukuna, and therefore, a fatal threat to mankind. Although his death sentence was decided soon after, his now-classmate Megumi Fushiguro and now-homeroom teacher Satoru Gojō obtained another option for him: to find and consume all the fingers then die. Following his decision, he was welcomed to Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical School, the educational institution for sorcerers-in-training, as well as the base of operations for Jujutsu community — a community in which the activities were revolved around exorcising cursed spirits. Yūji's long, long journey was just about to begin... |

Due to this, Yūji's cursed energy may seem immense — but it's not all his! As for how much a character can tell or understand this, I'll leave it up to you guys! This will probably show easily during combats, as he's still learning on how to control it, so it's not exactly all that powerful yet at the moment. If you're unsure and need more info, hit me up!

Yuuji takes most things in a stride, so there isn't much that can upset him. But, if you want an instant negative CR with him, hurting or killing someone innocent in front of him will do it, especially if he knows that you didn't do it unintentionally and/or without a good reason.

Having to deal with life and death situations so closely, means there may be mentions of murder and death here and there. However, this will never be done without prior discussion and/or warning. Any details that contain gore or body horror will be kept to a minimum unless absolutely necessary (or preferred). CURSED ENERGY (呪力; JURYOKU)

In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, almost all human beings possess this, save for some exceptions. For the most part, it's sort of similar to what would be considered magical powers in other realms/series. It is said to be derived from the negative emotions that humans emit naturally.

Raw cursed energy can be utilised as an attack (imagine a beam), to enhance physical attacks, or to protect your body (or even soul, if you are aware of its shape).

Identifying someone from their cursed energy is entirely possible, as it is unique to its user. When someone unleashes their cursed energy in any forms, it will leave residuals that can be traced back, almost like a fingerprint.

CURSED SPIRITS OR CURSE (呪霊; JUREI)

Normal humans cannot control the flow of their cursed energy, and in result discharge a huge amount of cursed energy daily. An excessive amount of cursed energy can cause manifestation of malignant beings called cursed spirits (or just Curse). They tend to manifest at places where many go with negative emotions in and leave negative memories at — such as hospitals, schools, etc.

Cursed spirits are categorised into grades based on their strength and capabilities, Grade 4 being the lowest level and Special Grade being the highest. In bigger cities, cursed spirits tend to have more intellegence due to the high population. However, only a handful of Special Grade Curses are able to maintain a completely natural conversation with humans. Normally, their speeches tend to be more broken up, or just repetition of the same lines over and over.

SORCERERS (呪術師; JUJUTSUSHI)
Those are aware of and able to control their cursed energy to fight cursed spirits are called sorcerers. Typically, they are born with some cursed technique(s), and can develop them with time. Like cursed spirits, they are also categorised into grades. However, even if the grade system are the same, standards are a little higher for sorcerers, as can be seen here.

There is a speculation that Yuuji might have been subjected to Heavenly Restriction (天与呪縛; ten'yo jubaku) — a binding placed within sorcerers' body at birth. This causes defects in exchange for enhancements in different aspects of their capabilities.
For example: Person A has close to no cursed energy, but has incredible physical capabilities that transcends what normal human beings are capable of. Meanwhile, Person B has severe physical disabilities, but in return gets an immense range for their cursed technique and extremely large amount of cursed energy, beyond what they were supposed to be capable of.
Whether or not this is Yuuji's condition, however, has not been confirmed canonically.

To fight a cursed spirit, he can't rely solely on raw strength, as a curse can only be exorcised by another curse. By hosting Sukuna in his body, he becomes something like a half-curse. This enhances his cursed energy, and allows him to perform exorcism.

Essentially, cursed energy added onto his punches. Due to his inability to get his cursed energy on the same speed as his pure raw strength, a single blow of it can give double the impact. The first impact is his pure raw strength, followed by another impact done by his cursed energy.

black flash (黒閃; kokusen)

A skill all sorcerers can utilise, but no sorcerers can use it at will.

Sorcerers who have reached Black Flash have myriads of advantage in understanding the cursed energy's essence more than those who haven't.

When the impact of the cursed energy lands within the span of 0.000001 seconds of a physical hit, the space will distort, and the cursed energy will flash a black light. When this happens, the damage averagely will be the exponent 2.5 of the normal damage.

Once a sorcerer carry out the Black Flash successfully, they will enter the "zone" like how athletes do, increasing the possibility for multiple occurrences.

In this state, they won't need to consciously control their cursed energy as it will flow naturally. It will also cause the sorcerer to feel like the surroundings are working to their favour, giving them the sense of invincibility.
